Go David!
Results of the Formula 1 Sepang race: Michael Schumacher takes top spot, followed by Juan Pablo Montoya and Jansen Button. My favourite driver David Coulthard managed sixth place, which is fine by me.
As usual, the Sepang track threw up loads of surprises. It was definitely a more exciting race as compared to the bland offering of Sydney's Albert Park circuit.
But for the second time in a row, MacLaren Mercedes let Kimi Raikkonen down. He was already in his 40th lap when his car encountered engine failure. Small wonder then that he was suitably pissed off. After that, I sat on the edge of my seat, wringing my hands and crossing my fingers that nothing similar will happen to David.
No matter how good a workman is, he requires the proper tools to perform well. If MacLaren Mercedes doesn't try to drastically improve the engines, neither of their drivers will get to stand on the podium this season or the next. So what if Kimi Raikkonen is a talented driver and Montoya will be joining the MacLaren Mercedes stable next season? Even if the team had M Schumacher, there's no way he would be able to win races without a sturdy car.
Another two weeks to go before the drivers start off at Bahrain. If Kimi Raikkonen's car faces engine problems the third time in a row during this race, I'm definitely going to buy a lottery ticket....
